Power utility Eskom announced late on Tuesday that Stage 4 load shedding will be in place until further notice continue this week.

This comes after a generation unit at both Kendal and Lethabo power stations tripped.

Eskom promised to publish a further update on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, those who receive their electricity from the City of Cape Town will receive some relief after it confirmed its plan.

While Eskom electricity recipients will be on Stage 4, City of Cape Town customers will ‘only’ face either Stage 2 or 3 for the majority of Wednesday – with updates to follow during the course of the day.

Stage 3: 14:00 – 22:00
