Confirmed: Stellenbosch announce Fourie is going to Pirates
Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the departure of Head of Recuitment and Analysis Brendon Fourie, to join Orlando Pirates.
Orlando Pirates have completed a major scoop with one of South African football’s finest scouts Fourie from Stellenbosch FC.
Fourie is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained with Deloitte, and further strengthened his football expertise by completing a Master in Football Business through the Johan Cruyff Institute in partnership with FC Barcelona.
The new Buccaneer also holds a Mini MBA in Sporting Directorship from FOCUS Sports Education, is a Certified Football Tactical Analyst through the Barca Innovation Hub, and has completed the FA Talent Identification Level 1 certification.

“Stellenbosch, 24 March 2026 – Stellenbosch FC confirms the departure of Head of Recruitment and Analysis, Brendon Fourie,” Stellies said.
“Fourie, who joined the Club in December 2022, has brought his tenure to an end after informing the Club’s management of his desire to pursue a new challenge with local rivals Orlando Pirates FC,” the note added.

Fourie’s move from Stellenbosch FC to Orlando makes the third technician in under two years: 2024 saw Ruan Rust, Head of Performance and Devon O’Brien, a Performance Analyst.
Rob Benadie, the club’s CEO, paid tribute to departing Fourie, acknowledging both his contribution and the club’s continued stability.
“It is, of course, disappointing to lose a person of Brendon’s calibre, but we respect his decision and wish him all the best,” Benadie said.
He added that Fourie had played a valuable role in shaping the recent success of Stellenbosch FC and leaves with the gratitude of everyone associated with the club.
Benadie also reassured supporters that the club’s progress is not dependent on any one individual, highlighting the strength of its internal structures and personnel.
“Supporters can, however, rest assured that the strength of this club has never relied on any single individual. We have built a robust sporting infrastructure with many talented staff members who remain fully committed. We look forward to a strong finish to the current season,” he concluded.
