Dawn Thandeka King to headline a cultural event in Zimbabwe

South African actress Dawn Thandeka King is set to headline this year’s Imiklomelo Ka Dakamela, a unique cultural event held in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland North.

Also known as the Chief Dakamela Achievers Awards, the event has been steadily gaining attention since it was launched in 2022.

The event marks the celebrations of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

The celebrations range from community leaders and creatives to individuals who have turned their lives around.

Unlike a typical awards ceremony, Imiklomelo Ka Dakamela blends tradition with entertainment.

It is hosted at Chief Dakamela’s homestead in Nkayi and brings together culture, music, and storytelling in a setting that feels more like a festival than a formal event.

This year’s edition will run from 3 to 6 April, with organisers expected to once again create a vibrant, community-driven experience.

Star-studded lineup at Dakamela awards
