Druze caught between 'Hezbollah and Israeli occupiers’, specialist says
The Druze community in the Golan Heights where a strike that Israel blamed on Hezbollah killed 12 youths in a border village Saturday is “caught between Hezbollah and Israeli occupiers”, said Scott Lucas, University College Dublin professor of US and International Politics. “They’re in a no-win situation where they could get hit by either side”, Lucas said, adding that Israel has failed to provide security for the region that it has occupied since 1967.
