In a first since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022, US, Ukraine and Russian officials are set to meet for peace talks in the UAE on January 23. There is however no sign of a softening of their positions to end the war, as Ukraine refuses to give up the Donetsk region as Russia asks for, which represents 20% of the Donbas.
