Hong Kong sentences 45 pro-democracy campaigners to prison terms

Hong Kong sentenced 45 pro-democracy activists under its national security laws on Tuesday, with former law professor Benny Tai receiving 10 years, the longest term yet. The defendants were charged with subversion for holding an unauthorised primary election in 2020 aimed at selecting pro-democracy candidates.
