The South African Automotive Business Council has today announced the finalists for its inaugural Accelerator Awards 2022.
PRETORIA: Thursday, October 20, 2022: The Automotive Business Council (naamsa) has today announced the finalists to its inaugural Accelerator Awards. naamsa CEO, Mikel Mabasa has confirmed that during the SA Auto Week, the auto industry will be launching the naamsa Accelerator Awards which will become the country’s only pre-imminent, objective, fact-based and the most prestigious motoring competition in the country by far. “We are using our respected, trusted and independently audited datasets to recognise and acknowledge best performing brands in different segments and categories across the entire auto value chain. We will also be recognising best performing dealerships for year under review across all our brands in South Africa”, said Mabasa.
Inaugural Accelerator Awards 2022 process
naamsa reliably collects, processes, aggregates and publicly distributes different auto data sets each month on the performance of all our vehicle brands in the country. For the longest time, naamsa has perfected the science of collecting new vehicle sales data which has become the country’s leading economic indicator which closely correlates with GDP performance numbers. Our production, exports, imports and new vehicle sales data is reliably used by many reputable local and international organisations each month to aid them with their own decision-making. The naamsa data is also made available to the market to support with economic modelling and projections, and to support and inform Government with their global trade negotiations.
“Many of our members and other companies across different sectors of the economy use the aggregated naamsa data to develop their sales and marketing strategies and plans. Importantly and to support the growth and development of the industry, senior Government officials quotes the naamsa data in their public speeches and departments uses the information to contribute, shape and influence our country’s public policy development priorities”, Mabasa reaffirmed.
“We are now taking these strategically important data sets to the next level. At the SA Auto Week on Friday, October 28, 2022 we will be launching the naamsa Accelerator Awards which will soon become the country’s only pre-imminent and the most prestigious motoring competition. We are effectively removing subjectivity in deciding and announcing best performing vehicle brands in the country”, Mabasa said.
