Kaizer Chiefs beaten by one hour in striker signing race

Khanyisa Mayo could have joined Kaizer Chiefs this season, but Amakhosi made the move one hour too late.

KHANYISA MAYO ON WHY HE DID NOT JOIN KAIZER CHIEFS

The 26-year-old striker moved to Algerian giants CR Belouizdad in September instead of Kaizer Chiefs. According to the Mthatha-born star, the Algerian club submitted an offer before the Soweto Giants made a move.

“What occurred was, when I had just signed the contract with CRB, that’s when Chiefs came knocking and said they were willing to take out this amount of money for me,” Mayo said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“It was just one hour, we had just submitted the CRB documents.”
