Kaizer Chiefs coach points to final-third struggles
Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has reflected on missed chances after drawing with Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership.
Kaizer Chiefs saw their winning streak come to a halt after a goalless draw against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening.
Amakhosi started brightly and controlled large parts of the first half, but could not turn their dominance into goals.
FINAL-THIRD ISSUES COST KAIZER CHIEFS
Co-coach Cedric Kaze admitted that the team lacked sharpness where it mattered most, especially in the final third. “I believe in the first half we were better, but we lacked composure in the final third,” said Kaze.
“That last pass, maybe instead of taking an extra touch, we should play one-touch or take a shot quicker.”

CONTROL SLIPS AS CITY GROW
Kaze also felt Chiefs allowed Polokwane City back into the game as it went on, particularly in the second half.
“We knew they would defend and look for transitions with long balls. But towards the end we lost a bit of control and allowed them to get confident, to get crosses and transitions which they like,” the Burundian added.
Despite the dropped points, Kaze remained positive about the result away from home. “It’s still a good point away, and now we focus on the next game.”
Kaizer Chiefs now turn their attention to one of the biggest fixtures on the calendar, as they prepare to face Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium on Sunday at 15:00.
