Sundowns had a CAF Champions League assignment against La Passe whom they thumped 7-0 on the same day that Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 3-1 in the league.

And going into the encounter, Bonfils-Caleb was sitting on three league goals for Chiefs while Shalulile had already scored six.

It is only fair that no one expected Bonfils-Caleb to score a hat-trick against a Stellenbosch side that previously proved a hard nut to crack for Chiefs.
