Mamelodi Sundowns registered a 8-1 win over La Passe in the return leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round on Friday night.

On aggregate, Sundowns advanced with 15-1 win over La Passe as they went into this encounter holding a 7-0 advantage.

Thapelo Morena opened the flood gates with an eighth minute strike before Cassius Mailula doubled the lead with his first goal in the Sundowns colours.

La Passe did find the back of the net in the 39th minute through Rajaoniasy, much to the delight of their technical team.

Mailula completed his brace on the stroke of half-time, and thus making it 3-1 for Sundowns going into the second half.

Sundowns were just too strong for La Passe in the second 45 minutes as they scored three more goals without a reply from the visitors.

After a quiet period, Sundowns stepped up in the final 20 minutes of the game with Gift Motupa making it 4-1 in the 70th minute.

Hashim Domingo made it 5-1 six minutes later while Neo Maema netted Sundowns’ sixth of the night in the 78th minute.

There was still time for Sundowns to add their seventh, and it was Mailula who completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute.

Motupa then made it 8-1 to Sundowns in what was his second of the night as the Tshwane giants advanced in the CAF Champions League.
