Orlando Pirates fans praised Sipho Chaine‘s performance during their 1-1 draw against Cape Town City on Wednesday evening.

The Buccaneers came away with an away goal in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final at the Cape Town Stadium. The away side was the first to find the back of the net in the 15th minute through Relebohile Mokokeng.

Despite conceding the early goal, The Citizens controlled the game and created more opportunities than Pirates. Chaine, who was in top form, made several crucial top saves to deny Eric Tinkler’s men an equalizer.

The Bucs keeper was eventually beaten in the 61st minute as Cape Town City got their deserved equalizer. Jaedin Rhodes unleashed a shot after a brilliant layoff by Prins Tjiueza. The Citizens could have taken the lead five minutes later with a brilliant save by Sipho Chaine kept Pirates in the match.

In the end, both teams shared the spoils in Cape Town. The Buccaneers escaped with a draw and will feel more at ease going into Orlando on Saturday.
