Murder rates in Arab communities of Israel soar
Shocking crime rates are rising in Israel’s Arab communities, with one Arab citizen killed every 36 hours on average in 2025. This week alone, five people were shot dead in less than 24 hours. In Middle East Matters this week, our reporter Claire Duhamel travelled to Nazareth to investigate organized crime and gang violence, and we spoke with Ibrahim Abu Ahmad, a Palestinian citizen of Israel and peace activist, about the causes and possible solutions of this violence.
