NATO leaders agree to increase defence spending to 5%
NATO members on June 25 gave in to US President Donald Trump's threats to withdraw from the pact's Article 5 mutual defence clause, agreeing to increase their military spending to 5 percent. Some countries, including Spain, feared they would not be able to meet the target, leaving Madrid still uncommitted to the number.
