The ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings are topped by Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi. Taking eight wickets at 12.62 in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win over Australia, Afridi rose three places to past South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who dropped to third. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remained second.
Afridi briefly led the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. His bowling partner, Haris Rauf, rose 14 spots to 13th place, a career-high, after being named Player of the Series in Pakistan’s 2-1 win against Australia.
Naseem Shah also reached a career high, rising 14 spots to 55th. After Afridi’s breakthrough, Pakistan’s standout batter Babar Azam topped the batting and bowling rankings.
The right-handed batter scored 80 runs in three matches against Australia, being removed only once, to increase his lead over Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. Pakistan’s newly designated white-ball skipper Mohammad Rizwan rose two spots to joint 23rd in the ODI batting rankings after scoring 74 runs in three innings against Australia.
Afghanistan’s veteran Mohammad Nabi, who is retiring from ODI, topped the all-rounders’ standings. His countrymen Rashid and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza follow.
