Orlando Pirates make decision on Siphelele Luthuli transfer!
Orlando Pirates have made a call on free agent Siphelele Luthuli, who has been trialling at the club for a month
Orlando Pirates have released free agent Siphelele Luthuli after a month of featuring in first-team trainings and friendlies.
The former Chippa United midfielder will have to look elsewhere:
“Former Chippa United midfielder Siphelele Luthuli, who is currently a free agent, has stopped training with Orlando Pirates. Luthuli, 30, has left Pirates after his training stint and is now on the lookout for a new club,” IDiski Times reported.
“It’s been confirmed to iDiski Times that he’s left without being offered a deal after featuring in first-team training and several friendlies for over a month.”
The Buccaneers are yet to make a signing this year, but are monitoring several stars including Oswin Appollis and Cape Town City’s Jaeden Rhodes.
Mbatha defends himself
Following accusations of ill-discipline, playmaker Thalente Mbatha took to Instagram live to defend himself, saying, “they said I’m not training, you listen to everything, and I just came back from training. People can say whatever about me, but I’m coming from training,
“You guys will see me tomorrow [against Golden Arrows]. I guess the person who said this knows better; maybe he’s the one who hired me, or he owns the club. You see when you’re doing well, people will always want to do things to bring you down,
“What I say, guys is that I’m from training, and in the past matches, I was injured; even the team did say that I was injured. I’m fit for tomorrow; if they put me in the team, then I’m playing.”
Did Orlando Pirates make the right call?
