Former and current Pakistan cricketers lauded the Green Shirts’ Test series win over England on Saturday. Pakistan defeated England 2-1 in the third Test to win the series.
Since taking a 77-run lead in the first innings on a track where spinners ruled, the national team had been on the rise. Noman Ali (6-42) and Sajid Khan (4-69) bowled England out for 112 in their second innings, leaving Pakistan only 36 to win the series. Saim Ayub was dismissed before Pakistan won on day three.
Pakistan reached the mark in 3.1 overs, with skipper Shan Masood (23*) sealing the three-match series. Noman and Sajid took 19 of England’s 20 wickets, although Pakistan didn’t utilise Aamir Jamal, showing how spin-friendly the pitch was.
