The Tshwane giants led 2-0 at half-time thanks to a brace by Colombian striker Brayan León who found the back of the net in the 37th and 41st minutes.
Cut the deficit
To their credit, Orlando Pirates cut the deficit early in the second half when Patrick Masanganyi scored in the 47th minute.
However, no further goals followed with Mamelodi Sundowns cutting Orlando Pirates’ lead atop the Betway Premiership log to just three points.
In addition, they have a game in hand over their opponents tonight.
