The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed 3 June as the payment date for disability grant recipients. This grant supports South Africans who live with a physical or mental disability that prevents them from supporting themselves financially.

SASSA processes disability grant payments one day after older persons, giving this group access to their funds at the start of each month.

Who qualifies for the SASSA disability grant?

The SASSA Disability Grant supports South African citizens and permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 59 who have a certified mental or physical disability. Beneficiaries must undergo a medical assessment and meet the SASSA means test requirements. Approved beneficiaries will receive their June payment on 3 June.
