Suspects arrested for kidnapping and murder of e-hailing driver

In a joint operation involving Akasia SAPS Detectives, Pretoria Central SAPS Detectives, TMPD Tactical Unit, Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (NC), Tshenolo PI, and GTW Rietgat, officers responded to a backup call regarding video footage linked to a missing Bolt driver.

The footage, captured at Engen Filling Station on Soutpan Road, showed the victim picking up three suspects, who were later suspected of kidnapping him.

Officers proceeded to Rooiwal, Hammanskraal, where they located and apprehended three suspects matching the description from the footage.

After being questioned, the suspects confessed to murdering the victim.

The Rooiwal Community Police Forum (CPF) provided critical information leading to the discovery of the victim’s body in the Rooiwal bushes.

The suspects were found in possession of multiple firearms and live ammunition.
