Sweet cherry biscuits: Beautiful and sweet baked treats

Cookies are just some of the world’s best treats. With thousands of variations and flavours, it can be hard to cheese what’s next. Well, maybe some sweet cherry biscuits are the way to go for your next batch. This very simple recipe is not only tasty, but they look fantastic and even make a great gift. Enjoy them as you walk past the cookie jar or with a cup of tea or coffee!
Sweet cherry biscuits tips
You can use cherry chips or cherry jelly sweets to put into your cookies. Don’t flatten them too much before baking though as they do spread out naturally. Dust them with some icing sugar when you’re done and make them look like holiday cookies. In the baking tray, try and use parchment paper that’s well greased which will help you peel them off easily.

Sweet cherry biscuits recipe

250 g butter
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 small tin condensed milk (about 200ml)
vanilla essence
1 pinch salt
- Optional
icing sugar
jelly sweets
Method
- Cream butter, sugar and add condensed milk.
- Sift-in flour and baking powder. Knead well.
- Put walnut-sized balls far apart in the greased oven pan.
- Add small indent in the middle and add chopped cherry chips in the centres.
- Bake in preheated 180°C for 12-15 minutes.
