Usually, I try to make breakfast from scratch for my family, but as good as my intentions are, some mornings get pretty hectic. Since my 14-year-old son started high school this fall, they're more hectic than not.

That’s where ALDI comes in. From breakfast sausages to frozen protein waffles, I always find something my son and I can eat on the go. And right now, ALDI has one of our all-time favorite breakfasts as a special offering: Breakfast Best Protein Cinnamon French Toast Sticks.

What I Love About ALDI's Protein Cinnamon French Toast Sticks

Since I discovered these in ALDI's freezer section, this seasonal offering has become a breakfast ritual in our house. A one-pound box of French toast sticks costs $4.49 or a little over a buck per serving. Even with a teenager who eats anywhere from one and a half to two servings at any given time, this is such a bargain that I buy two boxes at a time.

These French toast sticks are made with whole wheat flour, eggs, and whey protein, and have a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on the outside. They’re so good—slightly sweet and cinnamon-y, with a great French toast texture. I don’t even think they need maple syrup, but my son likes to drown his in maple syrup, Nutella, or jam.

How I Prepare ALDI's Protein Cinnamon French Toast Sticks

I usually nuke them in the microwave for about a minute, but they cook up in three or four minutes in my air fryer, which crisps them a bit more on the outside, making them even more perfect for dunking in the sauce of your choice.

While they are perfect for weekday mornings, my son thinks they make a great snack after school and before volleyball and gymnastics. They make for an easy “breakfast for dinner” meal, too.

I usually serve them just as they are because of their convenience, but they taste so good that they’d make a great base for a Monte Cristo breakfast casserole or a berry and chocolate French toast casserole.
