Hello You... Joe Goldberg played by Penn Badgley will be back to his usual tricks in the fifth and final season of YOU.
Netflix’s psychological thriller “You” is set to conclude with its fifth and final season, premiering on April 24, 2025.
The series follows Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, a book-loving romantic with a dangerous obsession that leads him to stalk and eliminate those he fixates on.
Joe’s journey began in New York, moving through Los Angeles, the suburbs of San Francisco, and London, before returning to New York City.
Penn Badgley told Tudum on the New York set in July, “Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant. And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
HAPPILY EVER AFTER
In the upcoming season, Joe attempts to enjoy his “happily ever after” with his partner, Kate (Charlotte Ritchie).
However, his past and inner demons threaten this facade.
The season introduces new characters, including Bronte (Madeline Brewer), an enigmatic playwright who works at Joe’s bookstore and rekindles his nostalgia for his former self.
Cosmopolitan confirmed Nava Mau from Baby Reindeer will make an appearance as Detective Marquez.
Additionally, viewers will meet Kate’s siblings: Teddy Lockwood (Griffin Matthews), a snarky yet loyal brother-in-law; and twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood (both portrayed by Anna Camp), who bring their own complexities into Joe’s life.
Behind THE SCENES
The creative team has always envisioned a five-season arc for Joe’s story, aiming to bring it full circle as he returns to New York. Behind the scenes, executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo have taken over as co-showrunners for this final chapter, following Sera Gamble’s departure to focus on other projects.
As the series approaches its conclusion, fans can anticipate a thrilling and introspective finale that delves deep into Joe’s psyche and confronts the consequences of his actions.
