Travel Africa Day: Top holiday hotspots for South African travellers

Today is 17 February 2026, which marks Travel Africa Day. As you can guess from the name, it’s a way to highlight – and celebrate! – the African continent as the ultimate travel destination.

Consisting of 54 countries, Africa abounds in history and culture, as well as flora, fauna and stunning vistas you can’t find anywhere else in the world.

Indeed, it’s an incredible continent, one that South Africans are lucky to call home. It’s also one that embraces visitors from all four corners of the globe, including residents of the Rainbow Nation.
