The City of Tshwane has announced the reopening of several public swimming pools just in time for the Spring season.
This follows weeks of coordinated efforts with Rand Water to comply with Level 1 water restrictions.
In a statement, the City announced that six swimming pools would reopen.
City of Tshwane reopens pools for spring
Starting Thursday, 4 September 2025, the following pools will welcome the public again:
- Sunnyside
- Mamelodi East
- Mamelodi West
The rollout then continues on Friday, 5 September, with these facilities reopening:
- Danville
- Saulsville
- Atteridgeville
The City also assured residents that dedicated inspections by the Mayoral Executive have been conducted to ensure pools are safe and fully operational. Additionally, minor refurbishments are planned for all regional swimming pools.
Municipal officials remind pool-goers that all facilities are cashless, and instructions from lifeguards and staff must be strictly followed to guarantee safety.
