ALL BLACKS CLOSE GAP ON SPRINGBOKS

The Springboks lead at the top of the world rankings has been cut to just 0.72 points.

Despite winning their first four matches, the Boks have been unable to add to their points tally of 92.78.

This is because their opponents Italy (10th) and Georgia (11) are ranked too far below them. Meanwhile, their opening match was against the Barbarians who are not a test nation. Therefore, no ranking points were up for grabs for the Boks.

Whilst, the All Blacks secured a clean sweep after defeating the third time on the trot. New Zealand won 29-19 to add 0.34 points to their total points tally.

So, the All Blacks sit on 92.02 points now. This sets up an interesting Rugby Championship with back-to-back test matches between the Springboks and New Zealand in September.
