The Springboks defeated Australia 30-22 in the Rugby Championship.

The Springboks beat Australia 30-22 in Cape Town on Saturday evening.

As a result, the Boks have leapfrogged Ireland to climb up to second spot in the latest world rankings.

The Springboks added 0.23 points to their tally after beating the Wallabies in Cape Town.

Now, the Boks sit in second spot on 90.01 points.

Meanwhile, Australia lost 0.23 points after losing to the Boks. The Aussies remain in sixth position with a points tally of 84.85.

Therefore, New Zealand will retain top spot at the end of round two of the Rugby Championship irrespective of their result against Argentina on Saturday evening.

The All Blacks currently sit on 92.51 at the top of the world rankings.

So, if the All Blacks win by less than seven, then they will extend their lead at the top by 0.21 points (92.71). Meanwhile, a win by more than seven will see New Zealand add 0.31 points (92.81).
