US ceasefire proposal for Israel-Lebanon 'looking like a distant memory'
Reporting from Washington DC, FRANCE 24’s Fraser Jackson says US officials “spent the weekend” discussing Israel’s military plans in Lebanon. A US government source said the Biden administration managed to get the Israelis “to scale back from a wider ground offensive to this more targeted raid”, says Jackson. Last week, the US and France floated a 21-day ceasefire deal on the Lebanon front. “That’s now looking like a distant memory,” reports Jackson.
