War in the Middle East: Israeli strikes hit Beirut, Lebanon
Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said Tuesday the Lebanese army was evacuating "advanced positions" along the Israeli border as Israel’s military said it was establishing a buffer zone in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military is also continuing to carry out strikes in multiple areas across Lebanon. Since fighting between Israel and Hezbollah erupted, at least 30000 displaced people in Lebanon have taken refuge in shelters, according to the UN refugee agency. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry said an Iranian drone strike targeted the US Embassy in the capital, Riyadh, sparking a small fire and causing minor damage.
