Impressive run of form

This past weekend, South Africa snapped India’s 12-match unbeaten streak at the T20 World Cup as they handed the defending champions a 76-run defeat in Ahmedabad.

With David Miller leading the charge, the Proteas recovered from 20/3 to post a challenging 187/7 in 20 overs. The South African bowlers then delivered a masterclass of restrained aggression, dismissing India for 111 in 18.5 overs and completing a dominant victory.

“We were looking to be nice and aggressive against the spinners,” Miller commented after the game.

“They have world-class bowlers, but we have played against them a lot and we were trying to put them under pressure. It was about putting yourself in the position to do that.”

Meanwhile, captain Aiden Markram insisted there would be no time for premature celebrations.

“We will enjoy this for one night and then park it. It was a big game for us but it’s important we rock up and take it on full steam again.”
