Police will present a 26-year-old woman accused of fatally shooting the principal and an administration clerk at Inxiweni Primary School in Tembisa to the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 November 2025.

Police responded to reports of a double murder at the school on Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found the bodies of the principal and an administration clerk.

Suspect who works at Tembisa school arrested

On the evening of 19 November 2025, police arrested the 26-year-old woman in connection with the murders.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said, “On the evening of 19 November 2025, the police arrested a 26-year-old woman in connection to the murder of the school principal and one admin clerk. The suspect, who is also an employee at the school, is expected to appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on 21 November 2025, facing a murder charge.”

Education officials visit Tembisa school

Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona said Premier Lesufi and MEC Chiloane visited the school to assess the scene and meet the families.

“They also conveyed condolences and offered support during this difficult time,” Mabona said.

Counselling and support for learners and staff

Mabona added that the Ekurhuleni North District will send psychological support teams to provide counselling to learners.

Employee wellness teams will also assist staff affected by the incident.
