BCCI implements strict 10-point policy for England T20Is

The BCCI’s 10-point program for the Indian cricket team begins with the T20I series opener against England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22.

New rules require all players to ride the team bus together, no separate automobiles. The CAB has validated compliance with these measures. This decision followed India’s dismal series against Australia, causing the BCCI to implement a SOP to improve squad discipline and unity.

All players must stay for all practice sessions and travel together to and from the location, per SOP. This policy promotes teamwork and dedication.”

Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, has reportedly voiced reservations over certain terms, but the BCCI has already started enforcing them, starting with travel. The CAB and all state cricket boards hosting the India-England series received the 10-point ‘policy document’. Snehasish Ganguly, CAB president, pledged to follow these standards.

Ganguly said the Cricket Association of Bengal has not secured any separate transportation in accordance with the BCCI’s 10-point rules for players.

“The Indian team has only one bus. The cricketers won’t have cars. The rules dictate that all players must travel with the team to matches and practice.

The BCCI’s operations team and state units used to arrange personal transportation for senior players to and from stadiums.

Players and their families traveled separately during Australia tours. This practice has been discontinued under the new regulations. A major change was the Indian team bus arriving at Eden Gardens for the first time.

Gautam Gambhir headed out first, followed by support personnel and players like skipper Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

The BCCI also prohibits players’ personal managers and helpers from staying at the team hotel. This follows criticism over a support staff member’s personal manager accessing the team hotel and national selectors’ hospitality box during the Australian tour.
