Best for the best: Inside Black Coffee’s three-day 50th birthday celebration

Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo – rang in his 50th birthday in a star-studded party held in Cape Town over the weekend.

The Grammy-winning DJ and his partner, Victoria Gonzalez, hosted a three-day celebration, with guests including Sizwe Dlomo, Tamaryn Green, and Swizz Beatz.

Over the weekend, Black Coffee hosted a three-day celebration for his 50th birthday. 

This included an intimate dinner at his Clifton villa, followed by a star-studded black-tie dinner at the Beau Constantia winery in Cape Town. 

To top it off, guests partied at The Bungalow at an event called “Cassa Coffee”.

All three events were luxuriously curated and meticulously designed to ensure guests dined and partied in style.

‘BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY’

Meanwhile, Black Coffee’s girlfriend, Victoria Gonzalez, delivered a heartfelt speech at the black-tie birthday celebration.

In it, she referenced the moment they met and their relationship since.

Addressing guests, she said: “When two people are meant to find each other, something extraordinary happens.”

“The most beautiful love stories are not the easy ones. They are the ones with growth, the ones that fall apart and rise again, because love is not about ever breaking; it’s about choosing each other again and again, and somehow through everything we did. 

Turning to Black Coffee, she added: “Somewhere along the way, I realised something very simple. Home was never a place, it was always a person. And you were my home all along”.
