A search and rescue operation is under way for two members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) who went missing after their vehicle was reportedly swept away by floodwaters in the Nkomazi River near Komatipoort, Mpumalanga.
It is alleged that the SANDF members were attempting to cross the river from Komatipoort towards the Lebombo Border Post using the lower bridge when the incident occurred.
Helicopter deployed
An SANDF helicopter has been deployed to search the surrounding area, as emergency teams continue efforts to locate the missing members.
