Pakistan announces temporary Eid pause in conflict with Afghanistan
Pakistan on Wednesday announced a "temporary pause" in hostilities with Afghanistan ahead of the Eid al-Fitr feast marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The decision was made at the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, said a senior Pakistani official. It came hours before Afghans held a mass funeral in Kabul for the victims of a Pakistani strike on a drug treatment centre.
