Great news for Kaizer Chiefs fans in Gqeberha

Kaizer Chiefs supporters planning their next away trip will need to adjust, after the club’s upcoming fixture against Orbit College was officially rescheduled.

The match, originally set to take place in Rustenburg, will now be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

New date and kick-off time

There has also been a change to the schedule:

  • New date: Monday, 6 April (Easter Monday)
  • Kick-off: 15:00

The fixture had initially been pencilled in for Tuesday, 7 April at 19:30.

Reason for the change

The decision to move the game was made at the request of Orbit College, following the unavailability of the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the North West province.

The switch to a larger venue is also expected to better accommodate the anticipated crowd, with Kaizer Chiefs’ strong travelling support likely to turn the match into a lively affair.

What it means for fans

For Amakhosi supporters, the change presents an opportunity to enjoy a long weekend football trip, with the Betway Premiership match now falling on a public holiday.

Ticketing details are expected to be released in due course.
