Israel has 'vested interest' to break off Gaza ceasefire, expert says
Israel has a vested interest in not following through with negotiations on the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, Israeli diplomat and political consultant Alon Pinkas told FRANCE 24, citing Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's administration, which was averse towards peace talks with Hamas. "It all hinges on the durability of the ceasefire, but any local incident can be interpreted as a violation of the ceasefire," Pinkas added.
