Pick n Pay has waded into the viral beef with McDonald’s, whose CEO has come under fire over a video of him struggling to eat a burger off the menu.
So far, Burger King and the US fastfood chain Wendy’s have recreated the clip, poking fun at their competitor.
Closer to home, Woolworths has also hopped on the bandwagon.
PICK N PAY STARTS BEEF WITH MCDONALD’S
On its Instagram account, Pick n Pay CEO Sean Summers and Managing Executive, Dallas Langman, took on the “CEO Burger Challenge.”
Spoofing McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski, the duo filmed themselves eating burgers made from their in-store food items.
“Once you have one, you can’t stop”, Summers tells the camera. He cheekily added, “Did you see the size of that bite? Damn, that’s good.”
ANOTHER BURGER FAIL
This week, McDonald’s became a hot topic on social media over a clip of its CEO, Chris Kempczinski, struggling to eat a mouthful of the chain’s new burger, the Big Arch.
But social media users have dug up another cringeworthy video of the fastfood executive.
In it, Kempckinzski films himself eating a chicken burger. Eagled-eyed viewers were quick to spot that the CEO spat out his bite on a paper napkin.
