One Springbok superstar has been contending with an injury worry, and Rassie Erasmus has provided an important update in this regard.

Rassie Erasmus provides key update on Springbok injuries

The Springboks will begin their Rugby Championship campaign with back-to-back Tests against the Wallabies in Johannesburg and Cape Town next month, before facing the All Blacks in successive matches in Auckland and Wellington.

Rassie Erasmus’ team will then return to Durban to face Argentina, and then travel to London, where they will wrap up their campaign against Los Pumas.

As the Rugby Championship opener draws ever closer, there may have been some concern that Erasmus has revealed that double World Cup winner Cheslin Kolbe has been battling with a knee niggle.

However, it’s hoped this won’t be anything too serious.

“Cheslin had a bit of a knee (injury), but he seems to be ok. So, in the squad currently with us, there are no big injury concerns with the 37 guys that are here.

“Canan (Moodie) has got a bit of a hand issue. It was like an infection, but Canan has already started training, and Cheslin will hopefully be ready next week.”

The Springboks will wrap up the first week of their training camp on Thursday afternoon and spend the weekend with their families, before re-assembling in Johannesburg on Sunday to continue their on-field preparations.
