Following their poor performance in the continuing ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed spoke out in support of the national men’s squad.
Defending the championship, Pakistan had a dismal campaign as they lost back-to-back matches against arch-rivals and New Zealand before their last group-stage game against Bangladesh was abandoned without a ball bowled earlier today.
The hosts were deprived of the glory by the abandonment of the aforementioned fixture, hence they came at the bottom of Group A with just one point.
Sarfaraz, who had guided the green shirts to a 2017 title triumph, backed the present side in spite of their underperformance and argued that the criticism should be balanced and helpful.
