'Solar Mamas': Program trains Zanzibar women as solar power technicians
Although the semi-autonomous Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar has been boosting its tourism industry in recent years, it remains largely a rural village society, where half of homes have no electricity. Inthe face of this issue, an NGO is teaching village women to become solar power technicians - providing employment, and making it easier for children to follow their education. Story by Bryan Quinn.
