US carries out two strikes on alleged drug-smuggling boats in the Pacific
The United States has conducted two military strikes on vessels alleged to be carrying illicit drugs across international waters, killing five people. For the first time the boats in question were not in the Caribbean Sea but instead in the Pacific Ocean. There have now been at least nine strikes in total, killing 37 people.
