The U.S. cricket team, which will co-host the ICC World Cup 2024, includes Major League Cricket (MLC) players, migrants from India and Pakistan, and local talent given the chance to play professionally in the US. Harmeet Singh, from Mumbai, was a crucial player in two Under-19 World Cups for India. In their second win over an ICC member, Harmeet helped the U.S. beat Bangladesh. The U.S. will play Canada on June 1 before tougher Group A opponents India, Pakistan, and Ireland. However, Harmeet trusts his colleagues to beat big teams.

Ali Khan, a right-arm fast bowler from Pakistan, moved to the U.S. aged 18. Khan made his U.S. debut in 2016 and has played in the IPL, CPL, and PSL. An Indian wicketkeeper-batsman who moved to New Jersey in 2016, Monank Patel captains the club. After playing youth cricket for Gujarat, Patel has represented the U.S. in 47 ODIs and 23 T20s since 2019.

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Andries Gous joined the U.S. team in 2021 following a strong first-class career. He and Patel led a recent series against Canada in scoring. The U.S. team also benefits from Delhi allrounder Milind Kumar, who has nine first-class hundreds.

Former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja reportedly said the U.S. squad might challenge Pakistan because of its Indian and Pakistani players.

“I think US might give tough time to Pakistan because they also have some expats from India and Pakistan playing for them,” he said.
