Weather alert: SAWS warns of MORE disruptive winter weather – and SNOW
The SAWS has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive and cold weather expected on Wednesday across large parts of the country.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive and cold weather expected on Wednesday, 21 May, across large parts of the country.
Strong, damaging winds and high waves are expected along the Western Cape coastline, with the potential to cause localised damage and disrupt coastal activities.
Residents and seafarers are urged to exercise caution.

Rainfall in the Western Cape
Persistent rainfall is forecast for Cape Town and surrounding areas, increasing the risk of localised flooding in vulnerable regions.
Motorists should remain alert for slick roads and poor visibility.
Snowfall and icy conditions in the Eastern Cape and interior
Snow is expected in the mountainous areas of the Eastern Cape and the western interior, potentially leading to icy roads and railway lines.
SAWS warned that this could disrupt transport and pose safety hazards.
The chill factor will continue throughout the Western Cape.
SAWS strongly advised residents to stay warm and indoors where possible and to take precautions against the cold, especially vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
