The Kingsmen PSL 2026 of Hyderabad kept on their winning streak with a controlled five-wicket victory against Rawalpindiz who had an attainable target of 21 balls left with a powerful bowling effort already established the outcome.
Hyderabad Kingsmen gave one of their best bowling performances of the season, allowing Rawalpindiz only 121 on a sluggish surface. Although it appeared good at the beginning, the pitch provided control and diversity, and this was utilized properly by the Kingsmen bowlers to control the game initially.
Rawalpindiz had never recovered completely since his initial unsuccessful attempts, and had trouble forming alliances. Their innings were not very dynamic and they finally registered a below average score which put them under the pressure in the ranking. The loss was their sixth in a row and had them at the bottom of the table with a concerning negative net run rate of 1.821.
The Kingsmen chase was not all plain sailing, though. They were in trouble at 69 five, and this fleetingly opened the way to the stage of an upset on the part of Rawalpindiz. However, the game changed with a composed and calculated game of Kusal Perera and Irfan Khan.
The pair contributed a 54-run partnership that did not lose the innings and provided a managed conclusion. Perera was consistent, striking 32 out of 24 balls, with Irfan Khan able to back this with his unbroken 34 out of 29 balls. Marnus Labuschagne batted well earlier in the innings, with 32 out of 21 balls, but Glenn Maxwell was a golden duck, which made the match unpredictable, as well.
The victory is the third consecutive win by the Kingsmen which boosted the team up two positions in the eight team PSL 2026 rankings. Their better shape has boosted their chances of playoffs and confidence as they move to the last phases of the league phase.
